A guide to porcelain veneers from Kooringal Dental

When it comes to looking for a cosmetic dental procedure that offers a quick difference to the aesthetics of your smile, there are few that can match the porcelain laminate.

Sleek, simple and easy to fit, laminates have grown in popularity in recent years, as they can whiten your smile in a single visit, are painless to fit and also offer a long lifespan.

What’s not to like about that?

When you come to Kooringal Dental, our team will always be happy to discuss treatments with you to improve the aesthetics of your smile, including the fitting of porcelain laminates or veneers Wagga. We have fitted hundreds of laminates and know all there is to know about how to make this cosmetic dental procedure last as long as possible.

So, who is suitable for veneers Wagga, and are there any non-cosmetic advantages to having them fitted? Read on to find out!

Why should I have laminates fitted?

There are many reasons why having veneers Wagga fitted can be a great idea for many people.

As mentioned before, they can whiten your smile in as little as one fitting, and can whiten it up to 18 shades. Therefore, if you want that glowing Hollywood smile, then you can get it with laminates.

They are also able to cover and conceal cracks and chips in your teeth, while also being suitable for correcting minor gaps that are in between your teeth too.

Creating the laminates

The laminates themselves are created in a dental laboratory, and are custom-fitted to attach straight onto your teeth. To properly assess and create the shapes needed to achieve this, our team at the practice will use an intraoral scanner, or a dental mould.

This is sent to the laboratory, where the laminates are then created. The entire process takes between 2 to 6 weeks.

The fitting

Another advantage of having laminates fitted is that the process itself is painless and simple. Firstly, we will sand the front of the tooth or teeth that the laminates are going to be attached to. Then, we place some dental cement onto the front of the tooth and press the laminate into place.

The entire process can be completed in less than an hour, meaning you will walk away from our surgery with a great-looking smile on the same day!

Aftercare

Once the laminates have been fitted, then they are ready to go straight away, and you can begin eating with them.

For more long-term aftercare, all you have to do is brush and floss your teeth twice a day and ensure that you attend biannual check-ups with our team. There should not be any sensitivity with your laminates.

Longevity

With this exceedingly simple aftercare, your laminates will probably last up to and over 15 years. If, of course, you suspect that your laminates are loose, or have indeed fallen off, then please contact our team for an assessment as soon as possible, and we will gladly refit them.

So, if you are looking for a simple way to improve your smile with minimal effort, laminates may be the choice for you.
