What are Veneers?

A veneer completely covers up the front surface of a tooth, changing and improving its appearance. This treatment is useful for teeth that are chipped, cracked or worn down, or which are very badly stained. Veneers can also be used to close up or minimise spaces in between teeth, or to correct teeth that are too small or just slightly out of line.

What is the Difference Between Porcelain Veneers and Composite Resin Veneers?

Composite resin veneers are applied directly to the front surface of the tooth so treatment can usually be completed in one visit. Porcelain veneers are made in a dental laboratory and require two visits. Your teeth are shaped on the first visit and an impression is taken. This is used to fabricate your veneers that will be fitted and bonded in place during your next appointment. Although a little more expensive than composite resin, porcelain veneers are harder wearing and longer lasting.
